History

Starting from the need for a bulldozer job at a local vegetable grower, Kuku Nzito has quickly grown to become the leading rental firm in the northern zone of Tanzania. We have been in operation in Tanzania for eleven years already; first in Arusha, then in Moshi.

Today Kuku Nzito provides services to customers throughout the country in diverse areas of agriculture, mining and construction, and for small and large enterprises alike.

Patrick Temba was the first employee of Kuku Nzito Ltd. He joined us before we even owned one machine. In December 2005, Patrick travelled to Dar es Salaam to make sure our first Bulldozer D4H LGP was delivered safely to Tengeru, at the site of our first client. On New Year’s Eve of 2005 he reached Tengeru… almost. The truck got stuck about 5 kilometers from its destination. After working throughout the night with a small flashlight, we had our first machine ready on site for business on the first of January 2006.

Patrick is well known to all our customers. Whenever a leveling job is required, Patrick is the man with the “laser eyes” who does not move an ounce of dirt unnecessarily. As senior operator, Patrick advises the rest of the team and teaches them the “Kuku Nzito Way”. Apart from being a very good operator, Patrick is also a mechanic who can perform most maintenance jobs in the field without the assistance of technicians.

Then came Yahaya, who joined us late 2007. We had our first job quite far away from home, where our D6H LGP bulldozer was to clear 42 km. of power line in the Engasmet area. Obviously we could not send the bulldozer without a technician. Yahaya has stayed with us ever since and has been pivotal in keeping the company equipment up to standard. Whenever he comes with a list of parts to order, we extensively discuss the necessity of all this, to usually conclude that he’s right.

Today we have a full team of highly dedicated technicians and operators who are so professional on the job that they can almost run the entire operation independently. Send them off on the most challenging of tasks in the remotest of places, and they will get the job done without complaint, looking after the client’s best interests. Be it a Sunday or a holiday, if the job needs to be finished, they will do it!
